The new issue of Smitten Magazine (Issue 14) is themed Painterly, and I am so honored to be part of the styled shoot called Vermeer Visions! I worked with the talented team of Nomad Nuptuals, MeghanElise Photography, Jen Events, and others at the spectacular St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point.
I absolutely adore this dreamy shoot with beautiful, muted colors. I used shades of warm gray, blush, and gold to create the wedding invitation suite, table numbers, and place cards. It’s definitely one of my favorites by far.
A shot of the full wedding invitation suite. I love how the gold “painterly” brushed effect on the pale blush cards worked out perfectly!
For more of this breathtaking shoot, head over to Smitten Magazine and check out the Painterly issue, or look for it at a retailer near you!

Hi friends! Wanted to share that I did a Q&A with Lucy of The Pen Company – how I got started, favorite projects, tools and supplies, and some thoughts on calligraphy as well. Hope you enjoy the read and thanks so much for your support :)
Oh. My. Goodness. How much do I love this styled shoot at Hawks Ranch?! This beautiful collaboration was featured on smitten-mag.com today and is definitely one of the favorites I’ve worked on so far! It’s just so unique and stylish from the venue, the flowers, design and decor. I absolutely adore the Love Struck theme and ran with the golden arrow motif as I created the table numbers, seating cards and place cards for the shoot.
It’s always so wonderful to work with these amazing vendors! Go check out the feature to see all of the fabulous photos!

Disclaimer: Unlike many people, I’m not much of a traveler. Never have been. I’m mostly okay with road trips, but I really dislike flying where so many factors can throw things off, and everything is (literally) up in the air. To me, the “getting there” part is a huge hassle and a giant stress-inducer. And it’s worse when I’m without a travel companion.
But now I say: I will travel for calligraphy :-)
And this is where I found myself, a Southern California girl who had never experienced any temperature less than 40°F, in the middle of January, in the beautiful city of Chicago, where it was a balmy… 28°F. And now I can look back, smile and say: I went to Chicago to study with IAMPETH Master Penman Mike Kecseg for a weekend!
Ever since I was introduced to his Pointed Pen Variations (the exemplar is available in the Speedball Textbook), I’ve been wanting to learn from Mike himself. When an opportunity came up with the Chicago Calligraphy Collective, I just couldn’t pass up the chance. I joined the CCC and mailed in my check and registration form right on opening day back in September, and was lucky enough to get a seat!
I had the pleasure of collaborating with Eileen of Enamor Events on this beautiful invitation suite for a muted pastels palette that is featured today! I had so much fun working on suite as well as signage, using muted pastels as inspiration.
For all the beautiful photos and details, see the full feature on Burnetts Boards.
I’ve been keeping this one under wraps, but now I can show the whole piece!
It was truly an honor to be invited by Old School New School’s Copperplate Collective to participate in their Someday Is Now exhibition inspired by Corita Kent. It will be at the Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne, Australia from Nov 6-8. I wish I could attend in person, it will no doubt be wonderful. Thanks again Veronica and Madeline!
That was a neat few days. So very humbled to be part of the Word Art list with some of my lettering and calligraphy heroes. Thanks, Instagram for the feature!
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of collaborating with some of the most talented wedding vendors here in Southern California for a sweet and dreamy engagement session!
