Calligraphy on Instagram

What a way to start the weekend. Thanks to Alexandra Lange for writing a wonderful article about calligraphers on Instagram and including a few of my thoughts as well. The article: The Calligraphy Stars of Instagram.

She also shared insights from Seb Lester, John Stevens, Faust New York, and showed work by Gail Madalag and Artem Stepanov, all calligraphy heroes of mine.

I am humbled and thrilled to be mentioned and quoted in the article, since I’m just a student and nowhere near as skilled as any of the calligraphers in the article. But I do love Instagram and how it connects people who love calligraphy from all over the world. Hooray for calligraphy!

 

Style Me Pretty Feature with Spark and Wildflower!

A few months ago, Mattie of Spark and Wildflower contacted me about a project she’s working on – a DIY Pallet Escort Card Display for a Style Me Pretty feature! I was more than happy to be a part of this fun collaboration!

I sourced raw-edged ivory cards from IrishBrigid on Etsy which were perfect for the charming, rustic style. The cards were lettered by me in a fun casual script in Sumi ink.

Mattie did such a wonderful job! I loved seeing my calligraphy as part of this great DIY project and would love to collaborate with stylists, planners or photographers!

I am beyond thrilled to share the news that my work will be published in the upcoming issue of UPPERCASE Magazine!

Issue #23 contains a special calligraphy and lettering section featuring Seb Lester (our cover calligrapher), master penman Jake Weidmann and profiles of Joy Deneen, Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls, Erica McPhee, Barbara Calzolari, Neil Tasker, Pietro Piscitelli and Molly Jacques.

So very honored to contribute to this special issue which features so many of my calligraphy heroes. I have a small spotlight among other calligraphers who also submitted their work for this issue.
